Our Menu
HeadStart employs a full time cook who holds qualifications in Nutrition, Menu Planning and Safe Food Handling. All our snacks and meals are freshly prepared in our own fully equipped kitchen.
Our menu is consistent with NSW Dietary Guidelines, providing 70% of children's daily nutritional intake. We use only quality ingredients; lean meats and chicken, fresh vegetables and fruits. We do not use frozen, packaged meals which are re-heated.
The centre provides breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and a late snack. We recognise babies and children's likes are different to adults and our menus are specifically designed to reflect children's food and cultural preferences, providing child friendly foods.
Whilst our menu is designed to be fresh and nutritious, we also recognise the importance of providing meals that children LOVE to EAT. We put a lot of focus on designing a menu that caters to children's tastes as much as it does to their nutritional needs.
